Giving Tree Under Construction
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on the fact that children start learning at the moment of birth. They are constantly observing and assimilating to their environment. Therefore, this environment should be carefully prepared and maintained so that there are no obstacles to hinder their development. We are dedicated to the Montessori methodology, built upon the foundation of three fundamental principles - observation, individual liberty, and preparation of the environment. Our goal is to provide an environment that enables the child to develop all of their natural tools for learning in every aspect of development.

Our Curriculum
Practical Life: This area of the classroom is designed to assist the child in the development of motor coordination, concentration, self-discipline, care of self and of the environment, manners, and pre-reading skills.

Sensorial: "Training of the senses" is an essential tool for later learning processes. In this area we discover color, size, shape, taste, smell, sound, sight, and touch discrimination and classification.

Language: Children begin laying the foundation for reading and writing with their senses, using the sandpaper letters and sound with sight objects to learn the phonetic sounds. There are no distractions, and the process of reading takes place at in individual pace, with minimal interruption by the teacher.

Mathematics: Children are exposed to the concrete forms of number concepts and work at an individual level in preparing for an abstract understanding of higher, more complex mathematics functions.

Cultural: The cultural area of the classroom includes science, cultural studies, geography, investigation and experimentation. Discovery, classification, and awareness are emphasized. Within the cultural program are the Peace Curriculum, and Group Conservation Projects.

Foreign Language: The children will learn about many languages with songs, games, and work in the cultural area. (We also study sign language and body language.)

Art:: Daily individual art activities for all levels are important for the development of intellectual, social and spiritual stimulus and growth. There are many opportunities for group activities on a regular basis.

Music: Group time is a wonderful time for songs, finger-plays, and music and movement games. There are also many items in the environment to promote musical appreciation. Yoga is introduced to the children with music and games, this is a fun and relaxing activity and develops large motor skills.

Animal and Plant Care: The children learn about nature, and the responsibility of caring for living plants and animals. The children care for the schools' aquarium, hermit crab habitat and plants. The garden is used for planting food and flowers.
